OURGASM (08-2009)

Now with some clever combining of the strong points from several other bidules,
we can present you OurGasm. It became a quite versatile bidule that can handle
more music styles than most others we made. It's a real "all-man's friend" !
It can be used in a simple way or tweaked to your own wishes. All setting are
pretty easy to follow.
OurGasm = Our Great Authentic Surround Method
This method uses the now familiar Multisonic fronts and 4 selectable rears.
All software is freeware and you can download the package here : OURGASM
After decompressing you get 3 folders.
1. to Desktop - copy the content to your Desktop. This is the spreadsheet .
2. to Layouts - copy the bidule to c://program files/plogue/bidule/layouts.
3. VSTPlugins - copy the dll's to C:\Program Files\Plogue\Bidule\VSTPlugins.
We assume you already have the necessary groups from another method.

The layout :

WCAN3 settings :

- When your source needs DC offset correction, disable the checkbox
- The Mastergain is sufficient for 99.99% of the albums, so leave it at -6 Db
- When you want a LFE channel, select the Additional BassBoost option.

Rears Selector settings :

There are 4 different rears from which you can chose :

- WCAN rears processor : This option gives quite natural rears based on mathema-
tics only. It gives less separation but also less artifacts. Very useful for
songs whith a few instruments only.
- Extraboy rears : rears made by EB. The most seperated rears, but also the most
artifacts.
- Knockout rears : rears made by Knockout. The same as EB, but with a bit less
separation and lesser artifacts.
- Presynth rears : Rears made with Multisonics Var M. This setting is for songs
with instruments extremely panned to the Left or Right in the stereo song. It
uses the same technique as the fronts, but with a more extreme setting, it will
allow you to move the extreme sides of the stereo to the rears.
-Stereo Touch : On or Off. Stereo Touch gives you the ability to make the rears
wider or more narrow. When you want to use it, you can chose from the presets
as shown.

-Low/High. With this setting you can select on which frequencyrange the rear-
processor should work.

-Invert Right Channel Mix. Without this selected, you get a complete different
sound in the rears. Just try it out to hear the difference.
-Low, Mid, High Pass gain. These three setting work as shelf filters. Each gives
a different sound in the rears. Experiment with the setting and chose what you
like the most.

-Extraboy Preset and Extraboy Humidity. These two settings only work when you
chose Extraboy as the rears processor and should be familiar to you.
-Knockout Regain. When you chose Knockout as rear processor, it needs some extra
gain after the processing. The default value of 6 Db doesn't need changing....
-Presynth Setting. Here the Multicsonic Var M is used to steer the extreme sides
to the rears. The default setting normally gives the best results on songs where
some instruments are panned to the extreme sides of the stereo soundfield.

Monitoring :
When you only have the ability to monitor 2 channels, first add a soundmapper to
the L+C or C+R for monitoring the fronts. The standard setting of 0.5 gives
normally the best results and actually monitoring the fronts isn't necessary.
The rears however need monitoring, because of all the different options. Connect
the soundmapper to the outcoming Ls and Rs. Now you can play with all the
settings and listen to the differences and chose the rears that are the best for
your song and give the best surround experience.
Remember : You can only add a soundmapper when the program is not in offline
processing mode. You can change this in the edit menu.
Monitoring can only be done in realtime !

Happy Encoding !!
